"Kid Power" was a ABC-TV show, which ran in 1972. The animated show was directed by Jules Bass and Arthur Rankin, Jr. and featured the voices of April Winchell, Donald Fullilove and Jay Silverheels, Jr. The song "Everybody's Got Fingers" was sung by The Curbstones, a group comprised of the four youngsters in the Mike Curb Congregation that appeared on "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour." "They actually made the Kid Power characters look like The Curbstones in animated form," remembers Curb. "I got Solomon Burke to work on the song because the show's producers wanted an inspirational rhythm and blues sound." Burke was a legendary soul performer who began as a nine-year-old preacher and choir soloist in his family's Philadelphia church. Burke hosted his own radio program at 12 before signing with Atlantic and recording hits such as "Just Out of Reach (Of My Two Open Arms)," "Cry to Me" and "You Can Make It If You Try." Later, Curb produced Solomon Burke for Chess Records "which was a nice growing experience."
