Pierre Cosette, the producer of the Grammy TV show, introduced Mike Curb to Jud Strunk, who had been a regular on the popular television show, "Rowan and Martin's Laugh In." Curb and Don Costa produced "Daisy a Day" on the singer, and the song was a multi-format hit, reaching number 4 on the Adult Contemporary, number 14 on the Hot 100 and number 33 on the Country Charts in Billboard. Strunk died in 1981 when the small private plane he was piloting crashed.
